Archaeology - Grist Mill Wheel

The Newell Snow Factory site is considered by the Massachusetts Historical Commision as one of the most important historic industrial sites in Western Massachusetts. Periodic surveys by Industrial Archeologists at the site have helped piece together the evolution of Industry in the area. This mill wheel imbedded in the river bank is assumed to have been left after the old Grain Mill burned.
