Tap and Die

The evolution of the local Tap and Die industry is very complex and interrelated, but it all began over 150 years ago with the John Grant Patent for the first 'Die" for cutting screw threads.

We have created a graphic that is our best approximation of the evolution of many of these companies. A large version of this graphic can be viewed HERE.
